My late 40s husband has been a vegetarian for 30 years now, and vegan for most it. He gets up at 4 am every weekday morning, works out, goes to work at a mentally demanding job for 11 hours a day, comes home and eats my whole foods based vegan dinner, does the dishes, does something active in the evening, often working in his woodshop, and then goes to bed at 9:30 pm. He is and has always been very lean - 6 to 9% body fat depending on the time of year. He has also been getting back and forth to his job for 20 plus years via human power. His office is currently about 2 miles away. Not saying vegan is for everybody, but plant power sure seems to work for my hubby.
